ReelDirector FAQ

Version 2.4

I would like to add a soundtrack from my iTunes music library.

A: At this moment loading music directly from phone's iTunes library is NOT allowed by Apple. ReelDirector handles its own library: please turn on Wi-Fi, select Music tab, tap "+" button and follow the instructions.

Why can I only add clips from Camera Roll, but not the entire photo library?

A: Please go to Settings app, select ReelDirector, and enable "Access Photo Library".

I cannot add transition to the opening of first clip.

A: The first opening transition was turned off by default. To turn it on, go to Settings app, select ReelDirector, and enable "Opening Transition".

I was trying to email a movie, and got an error message "Video too long to send".

A: Your video file is too big to send as email attachment. Please either create a project with lower quality or choose "Compress to reduce size" first.

I have an iPhone 3G/iPod Touch, and I'd really love to be able to edit videos too!

A: Unfortunately Apple doesn't allow any app to load videos stored on iPhone 3G or iPod Touch. We are exploring other possibilities though. Please stay tuned for future updates!

CinemaFX/FocalLab FAQ

Help - App crashes when launched!!!

Answer: Occasionally, an app crashes right away when launched. This might be caused by corrupted file or improper installation. In such case, remove the app from your iPhone/iPod Touch by holding the icon until the "x" button appears then tapping on it, AND remove it from iTunes as well; then re-download and install it (you won’t be charged again if you have already paid for the app).

Why after saving to "Camera Roll", some photos are fuzzy/blurry when viewed in iPhone's Photos App?

Answer: This is a well known issue with iPhone OS 2.2, happens with certain resolutions. Please try resizing with different resolution, or upgrade to the latest version of iPhone OS (iPhone release 2.2.1 fixed this problem but not for iPod Touch).

Occasionally, when processing high resolution photo, iPhone runs low on memory, causing big system button to disappear or even some apps to crash

Answer: Though CinemaFX and FocalLab had been optimized to use system memory efficiently, after long period operating, iPhone's memory may get fragmented and low. Simply power off by holding down the button at the top of your device for two seconds and restart.
